It is an incredible honor and privilege for me to assume the position of President of Indonesia, a moment that I will always hold dear as one of the highlights of my life. The unwavering support of the Indonesian people for our vision has propelled us to victory, and it is with their aspirations in mind that I eagerly embrace the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead.
The determining factor behind our overwhelming victory was our clear vision for the future of Indonesia—a vision that resonated with the people and offered practical solutions to the significant challenges we face as a nation. Now, as we stand on the threshold of a new era, there is no room for complacency. The weight of the hopes and expectations of millions rests upon my shoulders, and it is my duty to govern and serve all of the Indonesian people, regardless of their political affiliations or policy differences.
Our primary focus is on improving the quality of life for the Indonesian people. In pursuit of this goal, I have outlined ambitious policies that aim to enhance the lives of our citizens, particularly our children. From providing free meals to school pupils to ensuring food security and developing a modern, sustainable agricultural sector, our emphasis is on nurturing and supporting the welfare of the Indonesian people.
Indonesia’s mineral wealth presents a valuable resource for our nation’s economic development. Through industrial down streaming policies and a commitment to diversification, we aim to harness this wealth to create more revenue, investment, and employment opportunities, ultimately propelling Indonesia toward its objective of becoming a fully-developed country by 2045.
Additionally, we will maximize the potential of Indonesia’s high-tech industries and skilled workforce through additional training opportunities and support for innovation, paving the way for sustained economic growth. Our thriving tourism sector will also play a critical role in Indonesia’s economic development, with measures to improve the business climate and create a supportive environment for both established businesses and new start-ups.
In building economic partnerships and cooperation with other countries, Indonesia remains open and welcoming. While we value our relationships with China, we are equally committed to expanding and deepening our partnerships with the U.S. and the West, all the while upholding our sovereignty and national interests as our top priorities. Furthermore, our emphasis on Africa presents an opportunity for mutual support and collaboration as we work to transform our countries together.
As I stand at the precipice of a new era for Indonesia, I am committed to harnessing the full potential of our nation and its people. By working hand in hand with our friends and partners, I am dedicated to charting a path toward a prosperous and harmonious Indonesia for generations to come.
