Rising Stars: Silay Lokal Football Club Makes Mark in Manila Youth Football League

Silay Lokal Football Club, a collective of youthful athletes hailing from Silay City and St. John’s Institute, exhibited their prowess and abilities at the Manila Youth Football League (MYFL) held on August 3 and 4, 2024.

Amidst a field of 20 football clubs from across the nation in the Mixed 2014 category, the team distinguished itself, despite facing formidable competition from adversaries boasting local and international acclaim. Head Coach Jan Michael Centina and Coach Jun Jun Aguhayon provided expert guidance, steering the team to an impressive journey to the quarter-finals, showcasing their exceptional skill, cohesive teamwork, and resolute determination.

The athletes who brought honor to Silay Lokal and St. John’s Institute include Beatriz Misa Lopue, Aneah Caitlin Marquillero Villalba, Elise Patria Francisco Santiago, Michael Richard Isaias P. Clark, Cassandra Maureen C. Jungco, Vince Hernando C. Jungco, Uzziah Pacol, Hezekiah Rapa, Dwayne Elijah Santiago, Charbel Jay Rojas, and Riesen Mars Velasco. Their outstanding performance was on full display at the Chelsea Blue Pitch in Makati Circuit, Makati City.

In the highly competitive MYFL, Silay Lokal unequivocally proved their mettle as one of the most formidable teams in the Mixed U10 category. Their progression to the quarter-finals stands as a testament to their unyielding dedication, palpable through their daily training at Silay Football Pitch.
