Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has initiated an urgent inquiry into the shocking claims that entry passes to the highly secure Government House in Thailand are being unlawfully sold for money. In his address to the media, the Prime Minister expressed his dismay at the allegations and emphasized the gravity of the situation.
He stated, “I have never heard of such activity, but I find it utterly unacceptable. I have ordered those concerned to look into the reports and hope that they are untrue.”
Claims emerged alleging that individuals seeking access to Government House were being offered passes in exchange for cash. These entry passes, which are typically reserved for the aides of senior government officials, including those of the Prime Minister, have reportedly become a profitable commodity for unscrupulous insiders.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Prime Minister Srettha made it clear that he would not personally oversee the scrutiny of his aides. He expressed his confidence in his team and affirmed his satisfaction with their current number.
The PM’s remarks followed a crucial meeting of the Internal Security Operations Command, attended by Defense Minister Sutin Klungsang. The timing of this revelation has sparked intense speculation and debate within political circles, as reported by Thai PBS World.
